Marcus, my grandson, is a cancer survivor whose journey began just before he turned two years old. After enduring treatments in Syracuse, NY, Marcus has grown into a resilient and passionate young man. Now 21, he is pursuing his dream at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Marcus’s father, Jonathan, passed away from a severe asthma attack in 2011. Jonathan did everything he could to support Marcus, even after his passing, but that support ended when Marcus turned 18. Our family has tried to help, but as his grandmother, I am on a fixed income, living on my deceased husband’s Social Security and pension. My daughter and her family are keeping me from being homeless, and I feel a deep need to help Marcus accomplish his goals.

Marcus’s passion for culinary arts is inspiring. He dreams of becoming the next Food Network icon, and he is working hard every day to make that dream a reality. The funds raised will help Marcus cover tuition, housing, supplies, and weekend food while he attends culinary school. This support will give him the chance to focus on his studies and pursue his dream without the constant worry of financial hardship.
