On Thursday, my best friend and brother, Marc's 62-year-old father suffered multiple mini-strokes while driving his semi cross-country—a job he's done tirelessly for the past 15 years to support himself and their family. It was completely unexpected. He's always been stubborn and hard-working, the kind of man who pushes through pain and refuses to ask for help. But this time, he needs it—and so do they.

Marc and his sister are planning on traveling to Ohio to bring him back home to Nebraska, where he can recover surrounded by family and under the care of his son and daughter-in-law, who is a professional in the healthcare field.

We don't yet know what the future holds—only that he can no longer continue his professional occupation and that his life is going to change drastically. The family is currently asking for assistance with covering the upcoming costs of travel, food, and the multitudes of otherwise unexpected expenses that come along with this type of emergency.
