Incredible opportunity to play the title role in Vienna Summer Musical Festival’s production of Giulio Cesare!! There I will study under world-class instructors and perform in historic venues. This experience will be a huge step toward my dream of becoming a world class opera singer — but I need your help to make it happen!!

My Story:

Ever since I can remember, I’ve dreamt of becoming a singer, but it wasn’t until ninth grade that I realized classical singing was my true passion! I can still remember the exact moment when I fell in love with it.

In ninth grade, my teacher, Ms. Hirner, invited me to sing the boy soprano solo in Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms 23 with the Master Chorale of South Florida. I can still remember how fast my heart was beating when I first walked on stage, it was so fast I thought it might leap out of my chest. Yet as the choir and orchestra filled the church with ethereal music, my nerves eased into excitement. When it was finally my turn to sing, I took a deep breath—one supported by the harp, the conductor, the orchestra, and the choir—and I began. From that day on, I knew I wanted to sing like that forever.

Since then, I’ve worked tirelessly to refine my craft, and moving to Chicago to study at DePaul University has been a transformative experience! I’ve had the chance to take on multiple roles and grow both as a musician and as a person. I know I eventually want to take my career overseas, as Europe has a higher demand for countertenors. So, this summer I made it a goal to apply to programs in Europe that would feature countertenor roles. Vienna Summer Musical Festival answered my call with the amazing opportunity to play my first title role, as well as cover the main antagonist in Micheal Polo’s new opera Pluto! From the late mornings to the incredible faculty and productions, everything about VSMF sounds like a dream I made up.

For a long time, I struggled to articulate why I loved singing, I just knew I couldn’t live without it. However, one day I came across a book that helped me define my purpose: I sing because “I want to see more people feeling the joy of hearing something they like”. It’s a simple mission, but I believe it is profoundly important. Now more than ever, I feel it is crucial to have artists who can deliver performances that move people and speak to their very soul.
