Meet Marcie, the sweetest rescue girl who’s been through more than most. When I adopted her, she was just 40 pounds and barely surviving. With love (and snacks!), she grew into a happy, healthy 60-pound pup until a few weeks ago, when everything changed.
It started with vomiting that wouldn’t stop. After multiple vet visits, sleepless nights, and an emergency stay, specialists finally diagnosed her with a rare condition called Phenobarbital-Responsive Sialadenosis (PRS); a mouthful for something that’s still not fully understood. She’s responding to medication for now, but her throat is badly inflamed, and she may need surgery to remove her salivary glands.
I’ve already maxed out two credit cards, including CareCredit, trying to keep her alive. As a teacher, the $700 monthly payments are crushing, and if she needs surgery, I have nowhere else to turn.
Marcie’s fought her way from barely surviving to full of love and hope, she deserves the chance to stay that way.
If you can help, even a little, it would mean the world to both of us.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and caring.
P.S. I have left out gory and sad details to ensure nobody gets triggered, but if you'd like to know more or proof of the bills, get in touch. All the money from this fundraiser is going directly to vet bills and medication.
