Help Marcia Through an Unexpected Hospital Stay

My sister recently made a big move to Houston to start a new job and a new chapter in her life. The timing of that move was already incredibly difficult—she had to leave shortly after we lost our brother—and she was just beginning to get settled into her new job when another completely unexpected situation hit.

She developed a serious infection in her foot that progressed quickly and landed her in the hospital. She is currently being treated with IV antibiotics while her doctors monitor her closely and determine whether further treatment or surgery will be necessary.

Because she just started her job, she hasn’t accrued any PTO yet, and her health insurance hasn’t taken effect. She’s already missed several days of work, and we don’t yet know how many more she will miss.

We’re not trying to replace everything or ask for more than she needs. We simply want to take a little of the financial pressure off while she’s in the hospital so she can concentrate on getting well instead of worrying about the paycheck she isn’t receiving.

We’ve set an initial goal of $3,000 to help with lost wages and some of the immediate expenses that come with an unexpected hospitalization. If you’re able and would like to help, our family would be incredibly grateful. If you can’t, sharing this is just as appreciated.
