Sadly, my mother is severely diabetic and has been experiencing many complications this past year because of it. She’s been hospitalized 4 times since the beginning of the year. During one of which she was put on life support (for two weeks) due to a dangerously high spike in her blood sugar levels, causing difficulty breathing without medical help.

Her physical and mental condition have significantly worsened since this incident.

She recently underwent knee surgery and the incision reopened, so she is now hospitalized yet again. We urgently need to cover her hospital bills and purchase medications, but unfortunately, we do not have the necessary funds.

I currently live in Minneapolis, and am struggling to pay my own bills due to the violence from ICE and my husband’s recent deportation. My sister, who is caring for my mother alone in Guatemala, has small children of her own to look after and doesn’t have the means to cover these costs.

Due to this, we are now humbly appealing to your generosity—please open your hearts to us ❤️ We’ve also included photos of a couple bills from her February hospital visits, showing what we already owe on top of this new hospital stay. Lamentablemente, mi madre padece una diabetes severa y, a causa de ello, ha experimentado numerosas complicaciones durante este último año. Ha sido hospitalizada en cuatro ocasiones desde principios de año. Durante una de esas hospitalizaciones, tuvo que ser conectada a soporte vital (durante dos semanas) debido a un peligroso y repentino aumento en sus niveles de azúcar en sangre, lo cual le impedía respirar sin asistencia médica.

Su estado físico y mental ha empeorado significativamente a raíz de este incidente.

Recientemente se sometió a una cirugía de rodilla; sin embargo, la incisión se reabrió, por lo que ahora se encuentra hospitalizada una vez más. Necesitamos cubrir con urgencia sus gastos hospitalarios y adquirir sus medicamentos, pero, desafortunadamente, no contamos con los fondos necesarios.

Actualmente resido en Minneapolis y estoy luchando para poder pagar mis propias facturas debido a la violencia ejercida por ICE y a la reciente deportación de mi esposo. Mi hermana, quien cuida de mi madre en Guatemala sin ayuda alguna, tiene hijos pequeños a su cargo y no dispone de los medios económicos para cubrir estos gastos.
