Help Marce Access New Opportunities

Hey guys,

My name is Marcè (Mar-say), and I am an emerging ceramic artist. I desperately need funds to purchase a used car to be able to take advantage of new opportunities & take my career to the next level.

 I’ve used public transportation all my life, but most recently I had to turn down an Education Assistantship position at The Archie Bray Foundation and have had to pass up other opportunities because I don’t have reliable transportation (I have my license).

 Currently, I have been riding the bus transporting my work to galleries & exhibitions as well as using a scooter to travel back and forth to the post office. To save money I have been working as a studio tech and teaching artist in several places across the city of Pittsburgh. One of my biggest barriers has been transportation. I spend about 18 hours a week on a bus, carrying heavy boxes from place to place, going from job to job.  

Recently, I have been accepted to Haystack Mountain School of Craft in Deer Isle, ME and Arrowmont School of Arts and Craft in Gatlinburg, TN. 

Most of these opportunities are in rural areas and I will need access to a car to get around to buy groceries, supplies, etc. I graduated almost 2 years ago with a BFA in Ceramic Arts and I am ready for the next chapter of my life. I am independent and hardworking, but I cannot do this on my own. I can not afford the rising costs of used automobiles. I need your help!
