Marc is my husband, and our lives changed in an instant on New Year’s Day. While burning trash outside, Marc was trying to stomp out some brush when he lost his balance and fell into the fire. In the chaos, he dislocated his left elbow and couldn’t get up. By the time he managed to roll out of the fire, his head was in flames. Thankfully, I was outside and heard his cries for help. I rushed over with a bucket of water just as he was rolling out of the fire ring, doused him, and used an old shirt to beat out the flames on his legs. We are now in the burn unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, facing a long road to recovery.

Marc is expected to be out of work for 4 to 6 weeks, but because it’s the start of the year, he hasn’t earned any vacation or sick time yet. I will also need to take time off work to care for him, and neither of us will be paid during this period. On top of that, Marc missed a month of work in August due to a separate medical issue, and we are still paying off those bills. The hospital bills from this accident will likely be overwhelming, and we are reaching out for help to get through this difficult time.

Any support of any kind would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate, please pray for us. Any donation, big or small, would mean so much to us. We love you all and ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers. Your kindness and support will help us focus on Marc’s healing and recovery, and we are so grateful for anything you can do.
