Help Marc Reunite with His Son Renly
Hi, my name is Marc.
I’m fundraising to reunite with my 6-year-old son, Renly, and rebuild our lives after a series of heartbreaking setbacks.
Meet Renly
Renly is a bright, loving little boy with a huge heart and endless energy. He loves Paw Patrol, Minecraft, and making people smile. He’s on the special needs spectrum and thrives with structure, safety, and connection.
Despite everything he’s been through, Renly keeps shining. He deserves stability — and a real chance to feel at home again.
Our Story
In 2022, Renly lost his mom — my wife — in a tragic car accident caused by a seizure behind the wheel. That moment changed our lives forever.
I’m on disability after a spinal injury ended my 22-year trucking career. I also receive a small WCB benefit. Despite these challenges, I worked hard to secure a housing subsidy and bring Renly back home with me.
Then disaster struck again. A plumbing failure flooded our rental, and mold set in fast. The landlord ultimately decided not to rent it out again. With no time and nowhere else to go, we did what we could — staying wherever we could — until there were no options left.
Because emergency housing in our area was full, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to place Renly in temporary care in Blind Bay for the summer. I did it for his safety — to keep him out of the heat and give him the stability I couldn’t provide at that moment.
To make matters worse, during my last visit to see him, our motorhome — our only vehicle — suffered a complete transmission failure. That left me without transportation, housing, or a way to visit my son.
What Your Support Has Already Done
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised $500 — and that made a huge difference.
I was able to rent a U-Haul and get a storage unit large enough to safely store everything we own. That gave me breathing room and kept us from losing the few belongings we have left.
Now, I’ve managed to find a used transmission for the motorhome. It was originally $400, but the seller dropped the price to $250 to help me out. I’m planning to install it myself right where I’m parked — but I still need to rent a trailer to pick it up.
If anyone in Kamloops can help with the pickup or has a trailer I could borrow, that would be a game-changer.
Why I’m Asking for Help
Right now, I’m doing everything I can — but I’m stuck. I need just a little more help to move forward.
Your support will help me:
Get my vehicle running again so I can visit Renly and get to appointments
Keep our belongings secure in storage
Secure safe housing so I can bring my son home for good
I’m not asking for extras. I’m just trying to hold on, rebuild, and give Renly the safety, routine, and love he deserves.
If you can donate, share, or even send some encouragement — thank you. It means the world to us.
