At 49 years old, my life changed in an instant back in March when I suffered a stroke that left me unable to work a full-time job. While my determination to get back on my feet is unmatched, My current situation is challenging. I can only earn a living through gig jobs like Instacart and DoorDash, which believe it or not actually is very therapeutic. But it isn’t enough to cover my mounting medical bills and basic living expenses. My wonderful parents are helping but there’s only so much they can do.

Now, I usually think just asking for help is beneath me. However, besides losing 50% of my mobility in my left leg during the stroke, while spending a month in the hospital I also lost my car. I’m hoping to raise enough for a down payment for a new used one. I even tried asking around if anyone has a car collecting pollen and wants to donate it, I’ll take that as well.

***Update - Thanks to my limited mobility, my left leg 'gave out' on me on the 28th. I slipped on wet grass and for the first time in almost 50 years, actually broke my ankle! What makes my recovery more difficult is I can't take but a limited type of medications for my pain do to my current medications I have to take for my stroke. Now I really can't hold a job for about 6 weeks, and I have bills and medical things to pay for and I have gone through all my savings. I did just get a knee-scooter which is an expense I didn't want.

I also lost my 49th birthday. My #50 is coming up in March.
