"The Almost Project" (5 Goals I Aim to Accomplish in 2025)

When I was a child, my father would return home after a long day at work and ask me a straightforward question: “How is your homework coming along?” His expectation was clear: he wanted to hear that it was finished—completely and without exception. He believed that there was no such thing as “almost” accomplished; a task was either completed or it remained unfinished, no matter how simplistic that may seem. Since his passing in April of 2023, I have been on a journey of self-discovery, seeking to reconnect with my passions and ensuring that I see my goals through to fruition. I have been advised to align my goals with my passions and share them with others for accountability.

With this in mind, I have taken the opportunity to outline five specific goals that I aim to achieve by the end of this year, December 31, 2025. I have conducted research to estimate the costs associated with each goal, which I will detail below. Additionally, I will document each goal on my YouTube platform, both verbally and through video, allowing everyone to follow my progress and successes. I want to express my gratitude to all of you for your support; although my father is no longer with us, his influence continues to inspire me.

**"The Almost Project" (5 Goals I Aim to Accomplish in 2025)**

1. Publish My First Book: For over a decade, I have started and paused various writing projects for different reasons. I have one manuscript that is nearly complete, pending editing and publishing. I have estimated that the costs for copyediting and publishing can reach up to $5,000; however, I am seeking funding on the lower end of approximately $1,500 and will cover any remaining costs if necessary.

2. Host a Reality TV Show Watch Party: This event is likely to resonate with my YouTube subscribers, as we have developed a community discussing our favorite reality shows, including but not limited to “Big Brother,” “The Challenge,” “The Circle,” “The Mole,” “House of Villains,” and “The Traitors.” To accommodate contributors who are not based in New York, we will provide a live link or a recorded viewing option post-event. The estimated costs for this event include venue rental (approximately $500) and event photography/videography (around $300), totaling $800. I will manage catering expenses independently.

3. Fund Repairs for My MacBook Screen: In 2022, I invested in a MacBook Pro to enhance my video editing capabilities for my YouTube channel, "Music & Mental Health." Unfortunately, the screen cracked in early 2024 and I haven’t been able to use it since. After consulting multiple computer repair shops, I found the lowest quote for the screen repair to be $400. I am seeking assistance to cover these costs, which are essential for me to access my previous work and continue my business.

4. Create a Comprehensive Video Documentary: I aim to produce a documentary chronicling my journey with mental illness, detailing my diagnosis, its impacts, and the lessons I have learned throughout the process. I have received quotes for this project reaching up to $5,000, but I am only requesting a startup cost of $500, intending to personally fund the remainder.

5. Organize a Mental Health Public Speaking Event: I have experience with public speaking on mental health issues, having participated in several events, though I have organized only two of my own. My last event occurred about eight years ago, and I have struggled to find the motivation to resume this initiative. I need support to secure a venue, which I estimate will cost around $500. Any other associated costs I can figure out on my own.

As previously mentioned, I will document my progress on each of these goals through video and written updates, with the aspiration that, with your support and accountability, I will achieve all five goals by December 31, 2025. Thank you all for your encouragement.
