Help Marc fight Motor Neuron Disease

On June 30th 2020, my brother, Marc, received the heartbreaking news of being diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. MND is a killer and at the moment, incurable. They call this the thousand day disease because many pass away within one thousand days of being diagnosed. Marc is only 42 years old.

Marc and our whole family have tried to keep a positive attitude, and will keep doing so. But at the same time are completely rattled and devastated. Things are going down rapidly. He endures constant muscle twitching 24/7 in his entire body where he can't sleep. He has lost almost all strength in his arms that he cannot hold a grocery bag or even use a knife and fork to feed himself. Soon enough, the disease will move down his entire body, his muscles will deteriorate further and even the most basic tasks will be impossible without help. Finally, it will be extremely hard and painful just to swallow, breathe and exist.

Marc has three beautiful sons, a step son and a lovely long term partner, Kylie. He is also a much loved son, brother, uncle and friend. There is only so much Kylie will be able to do for him when things get worse, as she needs to work to earn money for their household and her son. Marc will need a full time carer sooner rather than later, pay for doctors and specialists, make adjustments to their house to accommodate a wheelchair, buy medicine to help with the pain and twitching, and most importantly to provide for his family.

I know times are tough for many at the moment, but please, if you can, instead of buying your morning coffee tomorrow, think about donating that money to our gofundme account, or whatever you can to help. At the very least, please share this so we can try to ease this financial burden, since Marc has a very physical and emotional battle ahead - as do his loved ones.
