Marble’s Story – From Desperation to Hope, But She Still Needs You!

When rescuers found Marble, she was barely clinging to life. This sweet two-year-old Husky mix had been abandoned and left to starve. Emaciated, dehydrated, and too weak to stand, she was just a shadow of the vibrant dog she was meant to be. In her desperation to survive, it’s suspected that she was even eating sand—just to have something in her empty stomach.

No animal should ever suffer like this.

But Marble refused to give up.

With love, proper care, and the patience of her amazing foster family, she slowly gained weight, learned to trust, and rediscovered the joy of simply being a dog. She’s blossomed into a gentle, loving soul who craves affection and wants nothing more than to run, play, and live without fear.

Just when she was ready for her fresh start, another heartbreaking challenge emerged—Marble has Patellar Luxation (Grade 2), a painful knee condition that makes it difficult for her to walk. Without surgery, she will continue to live in pain, unable to enjoy the life she fought so hard for.

But there is hope.

With surgery performed by Dr. Ringwood and his team at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Referral Centre (VEC), Marble has an excellent chance at a full recovery. She’ll finally be able to run in the grass, chase after toys, and enjoy long, happy walks with the people who love her.
