Hi, i’m Raffael and I am writing this on behalf of my dear friend Maram Ben Dhafer.

Maram is a 24-year-old trans woman living in Tunisia. She is not only openly and proudly herself, she is also a fierce activist and human rights defender for trans and queer individuals in her community. In a country where visibility can come at a high cost, Maram has chosen courage over silence.

Being publicly out as a trans woman in Tunisia is not simply a personal choice; it is a daily act of resistance. It means facing social stigma, threats to safety, economic discrimination, and isolation. Despite this, Maram has refused to leave her homeland. She believes in staying, in fighting for dignity, and in building a safer future for those who will come after her. But courage does not shield someone from hardship. Due to discrimination and instability, Maram has recently lost her job. She is now at risk of homelessness and urgently needs support to cover her most basic needs while she searches for new employment. This fundraiser is not about luxury or comfort it is about survival, safety, and stability during an incredibly vulnerable time.

The funds raised will help cover:

* Safe housing

* Food and daily necessities

* Transportation for job searching and activism

* Security measures to ensure her safety

* Essential living expenses for the coming months

Maram has spent most of her time showing up for others advocating, organizing, supporting, and defending those whose voices are often ignored. Now, she needs her community to show up for her.
