Hi everyone, I'm raising funds for my dear friend Danielle Graves and her daughter Mara Davis who is ill.
Mara is a Freshman at Vidor High School in Vidor, TX and was rushed to the hospital on January 9. After having a few previous flare ups of an unknown cause that required urgent care trips, Mara was brought to the St. Elizabeth in Beaumont, TX where she received treatment, testing, and a blood transfusion. Due to the complexity of her illness and symptoms, doctors felt it best to send her to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX.
At Texas Children's Mara is currently being tested so specialists can determine the cause of her symptoms. She has undergone multiple blood transfusions and is receiving pain management due to swelling in her legs and feet. Mara most likely has an autoimmune disorder, probably Lupus, but it's still not certain at this time.
Danielle is a hard-working, loving single mother to Mara and her son Kurt and has the kids full-time. On top of the obvious medical bills at both hospitals, Danielle is missing time at work and has to pay transportation and food costs on top of her normal household bills. Her parking bill alone is over $200. If the final diagnosis is Lupus (or another autoimmune disorder) there will be ongoing trips back and forth between Vidor and Houston, and recurring medical bills.
