In May of 2024 Mao was diagnosed with stage 4 nasopharyngeal carcinoma or NPC cancer. Since then she has been fighting tooth and nail to beat the cancer. During the summer she had chemotherapy and finished radiation at the end of November. Towards the end of her radiation it took a hard toll on her where she was hospitalized for 4 weeks. Mao is now at home resting and recovering. However with the return home, the bills are piling up. Radiation and chemotherapy treatments are expensive.
