Cancer fundraiser for Manya Kalom
Donation protected
Dear Friends of Manya Kalom.
Today, we are starting this GoFundMe for Manya. Many know her as a mom, wife, daughter, sister, a 'sister by choice', artist, teacher, humanitarian, kind, compassionate and loyal friend, who is in the fight of her life right now against stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her liver. She’s fighting a fierce fight and it will take a village of warriors to help her through this.
Manya has been undergoing chemo since January to shrink the cancer and has recently undergone a procedure to cut off blood supply to the cancerous part of her liver. The goal of this procedure is to feed the “good” part of the liver and help it grow to sustain her. Mid-May is the major surgery where the doctors will cut out the “bad” part so the good can grow. For now and beyond, she will need love, light, and prayers so the good that is left can grow as much as possible. Unfortunately, after this surgery she will not get a break and will begin chemo again on June 1st and continue for some time thereafter since the doctors still need to tackle the cancer in the colon – this is only the beginning of this fight.
Manya is a warrior but she needs all the help she can get to alleviate her worries and fears that she has another means she can lean on! She has the loyal support and dedication from her friends both far and near. Thankfully, she is still able to juggle her role as a wife & mom, fight for equality, and be an artist while battling cancer.
100% of this GoFundMe will go directly to Manya and help her with her medical needs and incidental necessities since she is unable to work consistently as she takes care of herself, as well as other costs for her care. She is always there for others, without question. Here we are, to do for her, as she would do for any of us.
Feel free to leave notes for Manya in these GFM posts as they are focused on her recovery. Thank you again for your help, love and support for Manya.
- With much love from her friends, we appreciate your compassion and support.
