Help Manuel’s Family Overcome Cancer Hardship

Manuel Torres is a devoted father of three children, living with his wife Anita in the south of Quito, Ecuador. I met Manuel and his family by chance at a church during my visit to Ecuador, and their story deeply moved me. Three years ago, Manuel’s life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with advanced bone cancer. Since then, he has endured constant pain, sometimes so severe it feels as if his bones are breaking. Once a hardworking security guard, Manuel now faces a 40% physical disability that prevents him from holding a stable job. Despite his determination, there are days when the pain is so overwhelming that he cannot even get out of bed. To provide for his family, he sometimes watches cars on the street, but it is never enough.

Manuel’s wife, Anita, is also struggling with her health. After a severe infection, she began experiencing seizures again, even while hospitalized. Their three children, aged 16, 12, and 7, are witnessing their parents’ suffering and the family’s growing hardship. The family is now facing eviction after falling behind on rent for five months, and they are living in extreme poverty. Every day is a struggle to secure food, medicine, and the most basic necessities.

We are raising funds to help Manuel and his family pay their overdue rent, purchase essential pain medication, and cover basic needs like food. This support will provide them with temporary relief and stability while we work to connect them with foundations for long-term assistance, including educational opportunities for the children and future job prospects for Anita when her health improves.

Since Manuel and his family are in Ecuador, the most impactful way to help is through financial support. Your prayers are also deeply appreciated. Please consider helping them through this critical time. Your kindness and solidarity will bring hope and comfort to a family in desperate need. Thank you, and may you be blessed for your support.

Transparency Note: All donations will be received in my personal account in the U.S. to ensure a faster and more reliable process. I will then transfer the funds directly to Manuel in Ecuador (to an account under his wife’s name, Ana Guachamin). For full transparency, I will regularly share updates and proof of each transfer so you can see exactly how your contributions are helping him and his family. Thank you for your trust and support.
