On May 12, 2024, my dad, Manuel Cabrera, had an accident that changed his life. My dad fell off the ladder which resulted in a spinal cord injury. The ambulance rushed him to the hospital and the next day, he had spinal cord decompression surgery in the neck. He was in the ICU for 1 month and was later moved to rehab for 2 months. Doctors do not guarantee he will walk again or regain his upper body strength. Therefore, he is fully dependent on us. Not only did it change his life, but it also changed the entire family's life as well.

My dad is currently using a power wheelchair, he can move himself around using a chin joystick to make him feel more independent. However, it is not easy taking him places since our vehicle does not have wheelchair access. With that being said, we wanted to raise money to be able to purchase a car with wheelchair access. With your support, Manuel will be able to come along to family gatherings and most importantly go on dates with his wife, Martha. Anything would be truly appreciated.
