We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to share the story of our colleague and dear friend, Manuel (Manny) Garay, and his family. Manny has been an integral part of the Thor Xpress Transport family since 2021, serving as our dedicated Warehouse Dock Lead. Known for his hard work, leadership, and kind spirit, Manny has always gone above and beyond for our team and community.

Recently, life has dealt Manny and his family an unimaginable series of hardships.

Manny had just returned to work following a neck surgery that kept him out for three weeks. On Tuesday, December 10th, tragedy struck when his beloved family dog passed away unexpectedly during a routine teeth cleaning under anesthesia. Heartbroken, Manny left work early to support his wife, Jessica, as they shared this devastating news with their two young children.

That very evening, tragedy struck again. Manny suffered a life-threatening accident, falling down the stairs in his home. He sustained severe injuries, including a fractured skull and collarbone, along with bleeding and swelling in his brain. Manny is now in critical condition, on a breathing tube, and under the care of doctors at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, who are working tirelessly to stabilize him.

The emotional and financial toll on Manny’s family is immense. Jessica has not left his side at the hospital while also caring for their children, and Manny’s recovery journey remains uncertain. During this difficult time, we are asking for your help.

Our Goal

We have set a goal to raise $20,000 to help Manny’s family navigate the challenges ahead. These funds will go directly to the Garay family to cover essential expenses, medical bills, and daily needs as they face an uncertain future.
