Help Manny attend Mother's Funeral

Andrea Johnston and I created this fundraiser for our friend - and his recently lost Mother Becky - that we love very much and want to help. Story below. 

 

One of my dearest friends, Manny, recently lost his Mother, Rebecca (Becky) Johnson Gordon to cancer. He lives in Alaska and her service will be in North Carolina. He was able to fly down last month to visit with her in her last days but she was a fighter and held on longer than expected so he had to go back home. She passed shortly after and her service will be mid December.

Not many people can afford two flights from Alaska in one month, however, together we can. Both Manny and Becky were amazing people in this little town of Hendersonville. This is a bit of a long story short, Becky knew everyone and was loved by sooooo many in this community and many others, she could have a book written on her alone. She grew up as a social butterfly that brought light into everyone's life that she met.. and she knew so many people. The amount of love and light she gave the world will forever shine.

Flights are currently around $1,000 and expected to go up everyday due to the holiday season. We set the goal at $3,000 to ensure he can make it here by the 11th of December regardless of price increases.

Manny didn’t want us to do this, no one likes to ask for help. However, he allowed Andrea and I the opportunity to convince him to try. All donations will go directly to Manny.

Together we can bring Manny home to join his family and say goodbye to his mother Becky.
