Hi, my name is Mandy Strickland. I'm a Jesus-follower, a vocal resistor in Texas, a survivor of domestic abuse, a recovering alcoholic, a former homeless person, and, until June 20, 2025, an SSDI recipient. I've suffered from gastro problems since I had a gastric bypass when I was 19 and it was botched, and I basically lived on the brink of starvation for 25 years until I was able to have it reversed. This has led to numerous physical ailments and mental illnesses, but I am on the cusp of healing.

Since the beginning of the year, I have been feeling less and less safe in my current situation. For the past several months, I've been looking at relocating to a more liberal state, with better pay and opportunities for me. I have great people and office skills, and this week I was able to visit, got a video interview, and had some conversations about housing, etc. I have attempted to find work here, but the pickings are extremely slim and I've been unable to continue working on my feet. I spend my days giving people rides, protesting and volunteering, and overseeing a Christian resistance community online. My son is in a difficult situation here in Texas, too, and his dad and I want to get him somewhere safer for him.

My original plan was to scrimp over the summer and move in September, but the loss of income has thrown a wrench in that. I'm asking for help. I'm needing donations to help with my move. Any little bit will go towards transportation, storage, being able to pay for some help moving, and a few necessities until I can get a paycheck.
