My name is Jody and I'm starting this fundraiser for my long time friend Mandy. If you know Mandy Brown, you know she is one of those rare people who leaves a mark on everyone she meets. She has been a constant friend, a source of laughter, kindness, and strength for more than 30 years to so many of us. Mandy isn’t just loved — she is deeply loved. She is the kind of person who shows up, who listens, who gives without ever expecting anything in return.

Recently, Mandy received the devastating news that she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. It is a sentence no one is ever prepared to hear — especially someone who has spent her life caring for others.

Despite the weight of this diagnosis, Mandy is facing what’s ahead with courage, grace, and determination. She is pursuing multiple treatments in hopes of extending both the length and quality of her life. Unfortunately, these treatments require frequent travel from Calgary to the United States, creating overwhelming financial strain at a time when she should be focused solely on her health and healing.

Between medical expenses, travel costs, accommodations, and the realities of not being able to work as she once did, the financial burden is significant. This GoFundMe is being created to help lift that weight from her shoulders — so Mandy can focus on fighting, healing, and spending precious time with the people she loves.
