I never imagined I would be asking for help just to keep my life from falling apart.
In a short period of time, everything changed. I became a caregiver to my mother as she battles cancer. My marriage ended abruptly and harshly. I found myself raising children without the support I once had. When a marriage ends, the emotional toll is heavy, but the bills do not stop. The mortgage does not pause. Life keeps moving even when everything feels fragile.
I am currently several months behind on my mortgage and facing growing legal costs. I need at least $17,000 to catch up on past due mortgage payments and essential legal fees so I can stabilize my family and keep our home.
I am caring for three young children, while recently watching my oldest son leave for the military, a moment filled with both pride and heartbreak. I am also caring for my ill mother, doing my best to show up for everyone while holding myself together.
I want to be clear that I am trying. I am in school, I pick up extra shifts when I can, and I take temporary jobs to survive day to day. Right now, effort alone is not enough to close the gap fast enough.
Asking for help does not come easily to me. I have always been the one who figures things out quietly. This chapter has taught me that strength can also mean honesty and allowing support when it is needed.
If you are able to help, whether by donating or sharing, please know it truly matters. Every contribution helps lift the pressure and gives my children and me steadier ground.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for compassion.
With gratitude,
Mandi
