My name is Manar, from Gaza.
I stand before you as someone trying to protect my family of 5 members.
We are struggling to survive under miserable conditions in temporary tents, and it is hard for me to find the words to describe what we face every single day in Gaza: no food, no medicine, no clean drinking water, oppression, helplessness, psychological pressures, doubts, and daily shocks from losing our loved ones. In Gaza, it’s not just hunger, sickness, and fear—it is slow death in every form.
My father and my brother were martyred during the bombing, right before my eyes. It was the greatest shock of my life—a moment that shattered me from within and has never left my mind. I was a medical student, working hard to achieve my dream, but because of the war, destruction, and my inability to afford the annual tuition fees of $2,500, my studies stopped, and I was deprived of graduating.
Today, I find myself in this desperate situation, humbly and sincerely asking for your help to save my family’s lives.
Since October 7th, due to the continuous bombing, we have been displaced from our home. We are now living under extremely harsh humanitarian conditions: severe shortages of food and water, and weather that makes life in a thin plastic tent almost impossible.
The past months have been filled with hell and terror. The war has dragged on, leaving our mental health and our lives in constant danger. We have reached a point where there is no hope left, as if we are just waiting for death. Even if a ceasefire is reached, the massive destruction in Gaza cannot be repaired quickly.
Your help will greatly ease our suffering, and I hope you will share my story with your families and friends.
I will be forever grateful for your kindness in this difficult time.
