A call for financial support when adversity strikes.
ABOUT MAMA ROSE
Hello, I'm Rose, often fondly called "Mama Rose" or “The Queen of the Homeless” by those I help and others in our community. For over 25 years, I have dedicated my life to feeding and assisting the homeless across Lancaster Ave, downtown Fort Worth, and downtown Dallas. Moreover, I help many young men and women to get their GED. Whenever, I go downtown, everyone runs with joy to meet me, because, they know that Mama Rose has something for them. They go around telling everyone, “DON’T FEAR, MAMA ROSE IS HERE!” But, unfortunately, Mama Rose, cannot be there now, due to the fact that Mama Rose does not have a vehicle to go about bringing them something to eat.
Adversity Strikes
Tragedy has recently befallen my mission. I was the victim of a violent attack; my home and vehicle were not spared from malicious intent by my new illegal neighbors. My van, which carried much-needed supplies for the homeless, was destroyed, and with it, a part of my lifeline commitment to those in need was lost.
A Celebrated Legacy
In 2021, Rose's unwavering commitment to serving others was recognized by the Mayor of Dallas, Eric Johnson. In a heartfelt letter, he honored Rose on her 70th birthday for the remarkable legacy she's created through her selfless service. This commendation from the city’s highest office is a testament to the positive impact Rose has had on the lives of many and underscores the importance of her mission.
Joining Forces with Mama Rose is Ms. Opal Lee
In this mission, I am not alone. Ms. Opal Lee, the "Grandmother of Juneteenth,” is united with me in my mission. She emphasizes the importance of education, as well as helping the homeless. Ms. Lee stands alongside me in downtown Fort Worth, feeding and helping the homeless. Ms. Lee is a beacon of hope and inspiration to millions of people in our nation and beyond.
A Plea for Community Support
Today, I ask you to help restore "Mama Rose’s Wheels of Hope." Your donation will contribute to a used vehicle that is so crucial to her mission. Not just for transport, but as a vessel for delivering compassion and support to those who have none.
