Help Mama Pham Fight Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Hello!
Dung [yuohng] Pham, our mother, is battling an aggressive brain cancer. She is currently being treated at UCLA Medical Center which is amazing but daily expenses of being in LA since mid-August has become an overwhelming financial burden. It is difficult for us to ask for financial help but we decided to do so because the doctors predicted treatment will be long and she’ll need to be in the hospital for at least 3 to 6 more months before being transferred to a skilled nursing home. Before she was diagnosed, our mom loved to walk, exercise, and cooking. She is the eldest of ten children and has always been a strong person. She has the spirit of a fighter, survived the Vietnam war and grew up in poverty. She immigrated to the United States to give a better life for her 3 children. She carried luggage, her three kids and a grand total of $200 in her pocket.
Raising her kids as a single-mother from unexpected life circumstances, she continued to fight for her kids' education and future. Mom always told us that education is the most important asset. She worked two full-time jobs as a custodian and a part time job on the weekends to cover the bills. We have never met a woman who worked this much or hard as my mother. The thick dark circles under her eyes, malnourished pale face and weathered lines on her brow were evident of her work ethic and how much she loved her kids. We owe everything to our mom for all of our successes in life.
Your support to this fund-raise will help with medical cost, travel, hotels, and the daily and unexpected expenses so we can help our mom fight through this difficult time.
Thank you so much.
