Help Mama Maria — A Beloved Nurse Educator Facing Disability

For decades, Maria—affectionately known as “Mama” by her new grads and colleagues—dedicated her life to teaching, mentoring, and uplifting nurses with love, patience, and unwavering support. She wasn’t just an educator; she was a guiding light, a second “work mama” to many, and a fierce advocate for compassionate care.

Now, Mama needs us.

Maria has recently become disabled and is facing severe financial hardship. Living alone, she’s navigating this life-altering transition without the support system she so generously provided to others for years. The physical, emotional, and financial toll has been overwhelming.

Our goal is to raise enough funds to support Maria for the next year, until she can officially retire. This will give her the stability she needs to focus on healing, adapting to her new reality, and preparing for the next chapter of her life.
