The truth is, I don't have a fancy introduction or an exciting catcher, I'm just a woman that needs help. My name is Heidi. Some of you may know me, and some of you may be complete strangers. Either way, I thank you for opening up this link and reading our story. My Son and I have a very special member of our family. Her name is Mama Kitty aka Mama Girl. My son, who is my sweet soul, named him as a very young toddler. Being some of only the few words that he learned before he regressed. Mama kitty mama girl is what we call her, What she was to him and pretty much all he could say... And it just stuck. She's a beautiful female cat, with such a sweet and loving soul. She literally grew up with my Son. And became a very special part of his life. We rescued her when she was a young kitten and my Son was a baby, under one year of age. A couple years later my Son ended up getting diagnosed with autism and as years has gone on, more diagnosis of other disabilities. For lack of better terms, she has dealt with him in love. Being patient and calm always! Becoming a real support to not only him, but to myself. She really is a lovely and beautiful animal. So very well-behaved, never puts up a fuss, and just loves unconditionally. And we love her soo much!
This is where I need your help. It's pretty simple, I need help with funds for medical needs for her. She just got diagnosed with cancer. It started out with a big mass on her neck, right next to her throat. We had to get that removed and with the help of a friend, was able to get Care Credit under their name. With this I was able to pay for the surgery and the other related expenses. However, I'm almost maxed out on that, with literally just a few hundred dollars left. The cancer she's been diagnosed with is called hemangiosarcoma and it's a cancer of the blood vessels. From what I am learning, it is a very rare cancer, especially for cats. And the way it has presented itself makes it even stranger. A very odd presentation. What we need to do now is some radiology to see if it has metastasized. We know that we got the mass out. It ended up being a very serious and dangerous operation, but successful. She's done extremely well, even though they had to tie off her carotid and jugular on that side. And remove a whole lot of tissue. She's doing excellent! No joke, literally no fuss and no complaining during recovery! She really is a trooper and a good good girl! And at that time we had another expected diagnosis. So we thought we were in the clear. However, after doing the biopsy of the tissue they removed, they have come up with this cancer diagnosis. Now we have more work to do. Even if I can never afford the chemotherapy, I at least need to know what's going on with my sweet girl.
So they do this imaging once a week at the oncology office. We were actually scheduled for today, but I had to cancel because I just cannot come up with the money myself. I am a single parent. I devote all of my time to my Son and his needs.
After imaging, would also be chemotherapy. And along the way of the treatments of chemotherapy, they will want to periodically do the radiology again, to check for progress, etc. And hopefully, God willing, complete remission. But to get down to the knit and gritty, I just cannot afford this on my own. And I would do anything to help our Mama Girl. So I'm making a GoFundMe.
If there is anything that you can give, anything at all, the word "appreciate" just doesn't even start to explain how thankful I will be. If you're unable to give, I completely understand. If you can share this, that can help in wonderous ways. I will post periodic updates on what is going on with our Mama Girl. My hopes is to raise at least the $1,700 for the imaging by next Tuesday, the 17th, St Patrick's Day. That way, at the very least we'll know where we stand with this awful disease. And my next hope is to raise the $1,300 it would take to start her chemotherapy. And that's $1,300 a session, so every month - every 3 weeks, it's $1,300 for a total of six treatments. With radiology happening at least a total of three times during this whole course.
I don't know what else to do except for to ask for help. So that's what I'm doing. I'm asking for your help. The number one thing I would ask for is prayers. And after that whatever you can give, whether it be monetary or sharing or both. She's been a rock for us and now it's time for us to be a rock for her.
Thank you so very much for taking the time. May God bless you and yours!
