A few weeks ago, one of AWLMC's amazing volunteers, Blenda, spotted a mama cat in her neighborhood caring for seven tiny kittens. Mama Cat was so friendly that we suspect she had once known the comfort of a home before being abandoned.
Sadly, one of the kittens didn’t make it while living outside. Determined to help, Blenda first brought Mama Cat safely inside. Then, patiently over the course of a week, she managed to trap every other kitten.
Six sweet girl kittens and their resilient Mama Cat are now safe and receiving veterinary care at Poolesville Veterinary Clinic, where they are being spayed, vaccinated, and prepared for their next chapter in foster care. This is a big undertaking; each cat’s care costs about $450. On top of that, Mama Cat has a painful broken tooth that will need extraction.
Thanks to the generosity of fellow volunteers, we’ve already raised most of what we need. We are now just $850 short of covering all of their care.
Your donation will directly help Mama Cat and her six little girls get healthy, healed and ready for loving homes.
Thank you so much for supporting these sweet kitties. We’ll share updates (and plenty of cute pictures!) as they continue their journey.
