Malloy is a 5-year-old male pit bull who was found as a stray in Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park last October. He quickly became a volunteer favorite at Harbor Animal Care Center, and when I saw his profile, I felt an instant connection—he reminded me so much of my heart dog, Bruce, who I also adopted from an LA shelter. I drove up from San Diego to meet Malloy, and when I arrived, I learned he was showing ataxia symptoms and was at risk of euthanasia due to his medical condition. The shelter allowed me to foster him to save his life, and I have been doing everything I can to give him a chance.
Malloy has already seen the vet twice and recently had an MRI, which has created a significant financial burden. The MRI results will be in soon, but his neurologist suspects a brainstem syndrome, possibly due to a tumor or meningoencephalitis. Despite all this, Malloy is the perfect dog—he’s great with other dogs, cat selective, and absolutely adores people. He loves going on walks, getting pets from everyone he meets, and is a joy to have around. He’s potty trained, crate trained, loves car rides, and has no separation anxiety. If it weren’t for his medical issues, he would be the easiest, happiest companion.
I am hoping to raise funds to pay off Malloy’s medical bills and support his ongoing care, as well as to help find him the loving forever home he deserves. Any support—whether through a donation or by sharing his story—means the world to both of us. Thank you for helping Malloy get the second chance he so deeply deserves.
