My sweet boy, Malley, has stage 4 kidney disease and I’m absolutely heartbroken.

Malley is my soulcat, my best friend. I rescued him as a baby when I was 19 years old, bottle fed him, and we became inseparable. We’ve grown into adults together over the last 12 years. He’s been my comfort through some of the darkest times of my life and has seen me through all of the good. Malley’s not “just a cat” to me. He really is a piece of my soul. I can’t imagine life without him.

Malley’s blood values are really high, yet he’s still hanging on. He spent a week in the hospital doing a kidney flush, which lowered his levels some, but it’s not looking great. He’s a fighter and I know he’s giving it his all, so I’m going to do the same. I’m doing everything I can to give him the best chance possible. Which means that along with the heartbreaking news, his medical bills have left me devastated. This is coming on the heels of trying to rebuild my life and finances on my own after a huge, unexpected life transition, so I’m asking for help.

I’m so incredibly sad and scared for my sweet boy, and I’m struggling to do this on my own. I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can help ease the financial burden of Malley’s ongoing battle with kidney disease. Anything at all helps.
