Help Maliyah Godwin RIP-13 yrs isn’t long enough

For the loss of a child, it’s natural to feel helpless or feel like you don’t know what to say when someone close to you is in terrible emotional pain.

Unfortunately, there are no easy answers, and as difficult and painful as it is, we must accept  that Maliyah Godwin (13) was taken away from us due to senseless violence. As a family, as friends, as a community, we express our sadness, we acknowledge our loss,  acknowledge the great importance of Maliyah’s life, and the loss to us all that her  passing brings. Therefore, today is one of those days where our family is asking the community for help.

On Friday, April 23rd, deputies responded to a shooting in Majestic Oaks in reference to 13-year-old Maliyah Godwin, who succumbed to her injuries, If anyone has information  related to this investigation, please contact the Combined Communications Center at  (352) [phone redacted].
