**Help Malik Fight: A Mother's Plea for Support**

Hello, my name is Chelsea, and I’m reaching out to you during the most difficult time of my life. My son, Malik, has been battling for his life since January, and the road ahead is still uncertain. This GoFundMe is to help cover medical bills, household bills, and other expenses that have accumulated as a result of Malik’s ongoing recovery.

In January, Malik suddenly fell ill. What started as a simple illness quickly turned into something far more serious. By February 1st, his condition worsened, and he was rushed to the hospital. He was placed on two different ventilators and an oscillator to help support his breathing. Despite the doctors' best efforts, Malik’s condition continued to deteriorate, and on February 10th, he was transferred from Mobile, AL to Children’s Hospital of New Orleans for ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) treatment, a life-saving measure used for severe acute respiratory failure.

After weeks of intensive care and a long, difficult battle, Malik was finally discharged from the hospital three weeks ago. While this is a huge relief and a step in the right direction, his recovery is far from over. Malik is still facing challenges, and we continue to navigate appointments, therapy, and ongoing medical needs. The road to full recovery is a long one, and the financial strain from his medical bills, as well as my inability to work since late January, has been overwhelming. I also have two other children at home, and it’s been difficult to keep up with household bills while focusing on Malik’s care and recovery.

I’m humbly asking for your support to help cover Malik’s medical expenses, our household bills, and other necessary costs so I can continue to be there for him and my other children during this time. I have been unable to work since late January, and with no clear timeline for Malik’s full recovery, we are facing an uncertain future.
