Help Maliha Overcome $230k Medical Debt

Hi everyone, my name is Maliha Mathew.

2024 was the most difficult year of my life thus far for many reasons, but mostly my health. To this day, I still do not know what caused it, but I was hospitalized several times in the past year for severe abdominal pain. Due to all of the emergency room visits and hospital stays, I currently am in serious medical debt, owing upwards of $230,000. I only have about $30 in my bank account at the moment and no current stream of income, as I am not currently working due to my health issues.

Additionally, I am on COBRA, which is very expensive (~$800 per month) just for the same health insurance coverage I had when I was employed full-time (I was paying 10x less for insurance while working: ~$80 monthly). I heavily rely on insurance with my ongoing health problems and necessary treatment, so somehow need to come up with the funds to continue to afford that as well until I am able to work again.

To say that I am stressed is an understatement. I wouldn't be asking for this kind of help unless I was absolutely desperate. I will be using the funds to help me get myself back on my feet, live independently again, get a lawyer in case I need to take legal action against the insurance company/facilities I stayed at, continue weekly therapy to work through the past 27 years of trauma/depression/anxiety, & other basic life expenses (food, housing, amenities, etc.) I do not have much family or financial support right now so any and all support is very much appreciated - even in the form of known resources I should research for further assistance.
