Malibu Phoenix Retreat  has been a family run staple in the community of Malibu for over 60 years.  Back in 1958, my grandparents bought the property and opened the very first surf and summer camp in Malibu, Surf Malibu. Ever since then, my father Fred Pierson has dedicated his life to the property and has been running events and providing a sacred place for over 1,000 couples to get married and have life changing celebrations and events.

We have worked tirelessly and put our heart, soul, and last of our financial resources over the past 3 years into renovating the venue, turning it into a spiritual healing sanctuary full of some of the largest crystals you've ever seen!!! And to create an amazing space to continue bringing joy to thousands of people through utilizing our property to continue to change lives, bring people and community together, and create an incredible healing sanctuary.

As many of you know, on the fateful day of November 9, the community of Malibu was changed forever as the raging Woolsey fire devastated most of the town, hitting our beloved canyon incredibly hard.

My father risked his life and tried his best to fight the raging flames, but The entire property, full of all the new renovations for our retreat center, went up in flames.  Including my house (full of everything i owned, there just wasn't any time to get anything out), all my father's buildings, storage, tools, and collectibles, the commercial bathrooms that were just beautifully renovated,all of the new housing accommodations, and multiple other areas.  We very sadly had NO insurance, the property was just too old, and even with all our new additions and renovations, we couldn't get insured due to the age of the original buildings on the property.

We believe and know that the Malibu Phoenix will rise from the ashes, and are asking friends, family, and kind souls everywhere to help us in this time of dyer need, and donate in any way possible to help us put the pieces back together, and create a place full of magic and possibility again!

All donations will go directly to our Friends of Phoenix Foundation, recognized by Internal Revenue Code 508, and are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

The funds will be allocated directly to all of the immediate and necessary steps we need to take to move forward. Major demolition, clean up, and rebuilding from the ground up are all our primary focus!!!!  We will continue to love cherish and support our community & neighbors however we can. The Malibu Phoenix, the city of Malibu, and everyone who calls this beautiful town home, we will all rise from these ashes together!!!!!!
