Hi, my name is Malia and early last year I was blindsided with the discovery of my husband’s affair and the abandonment of our 7 year marriage to continue his relationship. I went from being a full-time homeschooling mother with financial stability and promise to a single mother with 2 little ones and a mountain of bills overnight. Although at first, he continued to support us and pay his financial responsibilities, he has not done so since he served me divorce papers last November. To be transparent and vulnerable, my financial situation has declined substantially since then and we are on the verge of foreclosure and many, many bills are past due. I am struggling immensely. On top of all of this, I’ve had to pay an astronomical amount in attorneys fees since November. The judge ordered him to pay child and spousal support but he requested a trial which requires a $5000 trial fee to my attorney which I need to submit to them by 5/14/24.

My soon-to-be ex-husband has also requested an order with the courts to send our children to a brick and mortar school which will also likely result in a trial and $5000 in attorney’s fees. I wholeheartedly believe that I am called to homeschool my children and that it is what is best for them and our family. I need all the legal help possible to combat the aggressive motions of my ex-husband’s legal team. If I am unable to pay these trial fees, I will be forced to represent myself in these trials which could drastically affect the outcomes. I am trusting that God is in control and in His provision.
