Maleka's Journey

During the summer of 2021, a lump was discovered in Maleka's right breast. After undergoing an ultrasound and mammogram which both came back abnormal, she had to have a biopsy: which confirmed a diagnosis of stage 2B breast cancer. Maleka can be very private but we wanted to do something for her. She has gone through series of MRI's, scans, testing, and is now currently receiving chemotherapy treatment.

 

Maleka is a remarkable educator, who teaches Kindergarten level but unfortunately had to take a leave of absence due to her condition. She is a single mom to four wonderful children and has been doing a very good job raising them. Due to lost wages and occurring medical expenses, we are setting up this Go Fund Me page for her.

 

Upon completion of medical treatment, Maleka will have to undergo surgery which consist of: double mastectomy/reconstruction, following radiation treatment. As we all know these medical procedures are costly, and add up very quickly. It will be greatly appreciated if you can find it in your heart, in any way to make a donation while Maleka continues with treatment and moving on to recovery.
