It is with a heavy heart that I share the heartbreaking news of Maleasha’s passing on June 15. My heart goes out to her husband, Brian, their twin boys, Max and Brody, her loving parents, Jackie and Ginger, and her dear siblings.

Maleasha was kind and compassionate — a true friend who always put others before herself. While words can’t ease the pain, we can honor her by surrounding her family with the love and support she so freely gave to others.

Support for Maleasha Cantrell and Her Family

As many of you may already know, our dear friend Maleasha has been hospitalized due to complications from her autoimmune disease. This condition has caused her immune system to mistakenly attack her own healthy cells.

Recently, Maleasha experienced a severe flare up that led to vasculitis—an inflammation of the blood vessels that can be incredibly difficult to diagnose. Unfortunately, this resulted in multi-organ failure. She is currently on a ventilator due to respiratory failure, and she’s undergoing dialysis because of kidney failure.

Maleasha is a devoted mother to her 8-year-old twin boys and the loving wife of Brian, a 2019 astrocytoma cancer survivor. Right now, neither of them is able to work, and the financial strain is growing alongside their medical challenges.

I don’t often ask for help, but this family truly needs our support. Any amount you can give will go directly toward easing the burden of medical bills, daily expenses, and providing a little bit of peace in this incredibly hard time.
