Help Malaea Beat Cerebral Lymphoma

Donation protected

My family and I are raising money for my Aunt Malaea Salinas - Salazar. She was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer C.N.S. Lymphoma (central nervous system) which has affected her memory, speech, motor body skills and any unknown post conditions. She has been in the hospital since October 21, 2018 and just started chemo therapy on Thanksgiving night.

She is a wife to her devoted husband, Samuel, whom after 10 years together they got married in June '18 and a mother to her 4 children & 2 stepchildren. Her oldest son joined the U.S. Military and was stationed in Oklahoma this year. She has a teenage daughter & 2 younger sons. Her oldest stepson enrolled in college this year as well. They miss her terribly. She is a very hands-on mother involved in school activities, sporting events and church on Sundays. She was hoping to go cheer her youngest son and his youth football team, as they advanced in the playoffs. Unfortunately, she missed her first game ever, as she laid in the hospital. Even as she lays in her bed, she whispers in her faint voice if the family has ate..caring even while in the hospital.

She has overcome so much in her life and now at 36 years old, to be diagnosed with this very rare form of brain cancer, it's devastating to say the least. Since being transferred to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, Ca on Thanksgiving week, her husband drives 2 hours one way to be with her... Malaea is not able to understand or even speak to the doctors or nurses in order to make decisions regarding her care, that’s all up to her husband, which means he misses out on much needed hours at work. The total costs of her treatments are not known yet, but the financial hardship they are facing is overwhelming. Malaea’s husband is the sole provider for their family, so every day he has to miss work to be there for her treatment, update meetings, doctors visits and just the visits he and the kids make to see her are starting to affect them financially . In addition to what they are facing while she is in the hospital once she is released the at home care will be a challenge as well .. he will need to find someone to be with her during the day so that he can go to work,  she is completely unable to care for herself.

We all hope that our prayers will be answered and her treatment will be a success but we are only in the beginning stages of treatment she still has 28 days of chemo to go through.. the doctors are treating this very aggressively due to her health deteriorating rapidly in just the past 6 weeks... The road to recovery will be long and exhausting at times but with the love and support of her family and friends she will beat this .

Any and all of your thoughtful help is appreciated during these uncertain times..  It will take a village to raise her ..

Hebrews 13:16 : Do not neglect to do good,
and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Mathew 25:40 : "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
