As many of you already know, Malachi was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (which means he has no left side of his heart). Since birth, he has overcome many hospital stays and 3 open-heart surgeries. We’ve been blessed to have a great team at Arthur Blanks (CHOA) to closely monitor him, along with Dr. Oster, his cardiologist.
We learned recently that Malachi has two leaking valves and is in heart failure, so Thursday, August 14th, he will undergo a procedure called a Heart Cath to test the pressure in his heart to prepare him for a surgery to potentially fix the valves prior to him having what we pray will be his last heart surgery (Fontan) next year. His surgery date will be September 10th, and seeing as this has all come about suddenly and we are on fixed incomes, anything that is donated will be used towards insurance, gas, food, or anything pertaining to his stay and surgery. (We travel an hour and a half one way, which is not cheap.)
Above all, prayers are greatly appreciated as our Heart Warrior fights again towards the next steps in his journey to live a happy and healthy future. Thank you for any support. God bless.
