Help Malachi Get Back On His Feet After Tragic Shooting
Donation protected
Malachi Crockett, my nephew and a young man who has aspirations of being an actor, model, and comedic entertainer, was shot at random and injured while spending time down the street from a friend’s house. His crime? Taking photos with his friends to post online in a neighborhood that is heavily policed by gang members.
Malachi recently moved from St. Louis, MO, where he completed his senior year and graduated from Pattonville High School. He was excited, however, to move back to LA to pursue his dream of becoming an entertainer and to see old friends. On a Wednesday evening, not 3 weeks after returning to his mother and LA, Malachi was shot outside a neighborhood store, along with 2 other friends.
One of the bullets nicked a major artery in his left thigh, and Malachi needed a major blood transfusion to stabilize his condition. Thankfully, his life was saved thanks to the first responders and medical staff, but especially his friend Brandon, who made an emergency tourniquet on the scene despite sustaining injuries himself.
We are grateful to report that after 5 days of hospitalization, Malachi was able to come home. With support from his family and friends, who also lived through this tragedy, Malachi has made great strides toward achieving a full recovery.
This fundraiser is to help ease the financial burden of his hospital stay, prescription medication, medical equipment, and lost wages so his mom can help him get back on his feet. Every dollar gifted is greatly appreciated and will be used towards necessities. Thank you for lifting us up in prayer, and please continue to pray for us and all of the families who were impacted by this tragedy. Feel free to share & thank you for your graciousness
