WOW, thank you all for the incredible support on Mal's fundraiser! In the words of our dear friend Shawn, "Can't say I'm surprised. Mal has given so much for this community and has asked for literally nothing in return, so now its their turn".

Even though we've met our goal, we've decided to leave the fundraiser up to give folks the opportunity to help Mal offset the lost wages they will incur while being off during recovery. This isn't something we factored into the initial goal, but any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi, my name is Holland and I am fundraising for my sweet friend, Mal Parrott (aka, local Drag phenomenon and producer, Madame Daddy) with the help of their wonderful partner, Jenna Slaney! Mal is going under the knife for top surgery any day now (awaiting the word to travel), so we are urgently trying to raise $3000 to cover their anticipated medical and travel expenses.

Mal always shows up for others -- they are one of the most thoughtful, supportive, and gracious people I have ever met. They're always running off to help someone cook a hearty meal, finesse their makeup, choreograph a number, diagnose their sleep apnea, or some other extremely cool/kind/rad thing.

However...this meant that it came as no surprise to me when Mal attempted to take on the financial burden of this surgery by themself. While I appreciate their constant thoughtfulness, this is an opportunity for the community to show up for Mal in all the ways they've showed up for us throughout the years! They've had a pretty big year in terms of life changes and challenges, so I really hope this fundraiser can allow them to rest and prepare for surgery in peace instead of hustling.
