Hello everyone,

The SE QLD floods of February 2022 have unfortunately dramatically affected our dear friends Mal, Kate and little Sunny.

Yesterday in the pouring rain at lunchtime we made the call to evacuate Mal and their pooch Sally and two containers of personal belongings. Not an easy feat with only a blow up pool bed and a borrowed stand up paddle board and from a kind neighbour up the street. 

The water was at chin hight at this point (about half a meter from the second story). A lucky decision in the end as overnight the water had risen another 1.5m and destroyed literally everything inside .  

Heartbreaking to see this happen to such an amazing family.  They will have to start again from scratch as the home is now not livable and the majority of possessions unable to be saved. 

 

With a new baby and busy schedules, the couple never got around to arranging contents insurance before moving into their Windsor home. Mal is a passionate advocate for the R U OK charity and has always selflessly donated his time, energy and resources in raising much-needed funds & awareness for suicide prevention and mental health stigmas. He is the first person to reach out and support others in their time of need so now it's our turn to do the same.

We would like to help Mal, Kate, Sunny and Sally restore their lives as quickly as possible and are calling upon friends and loved ones to assist. Any donation no matter how small, will be sincerely appreciated.
