Hi, my name is Makyla.
About two years ago, I noticed a hard bump on my jaw. What started as something small quickly turned into a long and exhausting journey. I went from doctor to doctor searching for answers while the mass continued to grow rapidly. For a long time, no one could tell me what it was or what to do next.
After finally finding a doctor who put me on the right path, I went through two biopsies — both of which came back inconclusive. With the tumor continuing to grow, the decision was made to remove it completely. During surgery, half of my jaw had to be removed, along with my teeth.
Now I’m facing the next step in this journey: reconstructive surgery. On March 19th, I will undergo a major procedure to rebuild my jaw using bone from my leg, followed by dental implants. This reconstruction is necessary not only for my appearance, but for basic functions like eating, speaking, and living a normal life.
Unfortunately, the dental implant portion of the surgery is not covered by insurance and is extremely costly. I must have the required funds at least one week before surgery, and with such short notice, I simply do not have the financial means to cover this expense on my own.
I am asking for help so I can complete this final step, heal fully, and move forward with my life. After two years of uncertainty, surgeries, and recovery, I just want the chance to feel whole again.
Any donation, share, or prayer means more than I can express. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me during this incredibly difficult time.
Makyla
