Maki is a 6-month-old German Shepherd puppy who was abandoned in a parking lot. When I found her, she was just lying there, hungry and with a limp leg. I immediately went into 'fur mommy' mode, comforting her and doing everything I could to help. I could tell she was in pain, and I just wanted to console her and make her feel safe. Even though I had just moved to the area and didn’t know any local vets, I brought her home, gave her water, and tried to make her comfortable.

I called around and took her to two emergency rooms, but I couldn’t afford the services. I didn’t give up on her, though. Eventually, I found a clinic that examined her and discovered she had a fractured femur and bruises. They believe she was hit and left behind, and no one came forward to claim her. The vet said she needs casting and surgery as soon as possible. I used all the money I had to cover her initial vet bill and medication, but she still needs surgery to recover fully.

Now, I’m reaching out to the community for help. I have no family or friends here, and I’ve exhausted all my resources. The funds raised will go directly toward Maki’s surgery, medication, and follow-up care. Any support—whether it’s a donation, a prayer, or advice on affordable veterinary clinics—would mean so much to us. Maki is only 6 months old and deserves a chance to live a happy, healthy life.
