Hi everyone!
My name is MaKenzi Bryant, and I’m an incoming nursing student at Texas Woman’s University this fall! I’ve always known I wanted to go into healthcare to care for others, serve my community, and make a difference where it’s needed most. Getting into TWU’s nursing program is a dream come true, and I’m doing everything I can to set myself up for success. Right now, one of my biggest challenges is transportation. The campus is about 30–40 minutes from my home, and without a personal vehicle, it’ll be tough to juggle work, school prep, and daily responsibilities. I’ve been depending on my family to get to and from work, and while I’m so grateful for their help, I know it places added pressure on them. I’ve picked up multiple summer jobs to save as much as I can, but working around other people’s schedules limits the hours I can commit and the opportunities I can pursue. On top of that, I’m also trying to cover my college expenses. I have an amazing support system behind me, but I’d love to take some of that weight off their shoulders. Having a reliable car (used or not) would make a huge difference, not just for my commute, but for gaining the independence I need to manage school, clinicals, work, and life on my own. I’m not asking for anything fancy, just something safe and dependable. I’m committed to working hard and doing my part, and I’m reaching out for support to help close the gap. Every dollar, every share, every bit of encouragement helps more than you know.
One day, I hope to give back limitlessly not just as a nurse, but as someone who’s been lifted by others and wants to lift others in return. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, and for helping me take this important step forward.
With love and gratitude,
MaKenzi Bryant
