Hi my name is Shirley Ann. I am starting this fundraiser to support my dear friend Sheila.

On December 4, 2024 Sheila was diagnosed with stage 4 Metaplastic Carcinoma a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that affects less than 1% of breast cancer patient’s. It has metastasized to her lungs. Currently she is under going palliative chemotherapy. There is no cure!

Sheila is a strong and independent single mom of a son on the spectrum. She works hard to maintain a consistent routine to ease the stress from her son despite all the challenges she deals with on a daily basis.

There are days Sheila struggles to get out of bed due to overwhelming exhaustion, not to mention the constant changes in her body and not for the good.

Unknown to me there are many hidden fees when dealing with a terminal illness that never crossed my mind. For example now that she is retired due to this illness her medications which are several, are only covered up to 80%.. Then there over the counter items that are not covered at all.

My hope with this fundraiser is to relieve some of the financial stress that a terminal illness incurs and to provide some relief for tasks Sheila just doesn’t have the strength to take on. Wouldn’t it be nice if she could have someone clean her house when she is unable. I wish for her to get some relief from day to day tasks and enjoy to time with her son!
