Good day! I'm writing this in hopes that a few of you will have the ability to help one of the most amazing people I know in a time where she's struggling. (She's so embarrassed that I'm doing this but wtf? Why not????) Most of you have met Regina and if you haven't then you're missing out. She's one of the most vivacious, most passionate and caring people I know. If you need her she will throw down in a second and with no hesitation. She's an amazing mom and has raised 2 smart, well-mannered and yes, good looking kids!!!
I met her in the fall of 2013 where she came into my life like a tornado and never left. Now she's one of my phone favorites and you all know how I hate the phone!! Seriously though she's been a solid friend through and through and I couldn't ask for someone more loyal and crazy!! <3
Regina was diagnosed with HCOM, Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy when she was 28. HCOM is a primary disease of the myocardium (the muscle of the heart) in which a portion of the myocardium is hypertrophied (thickened) without any obvious cause, creating functional impairment of the cardiac muscle. It's a genetic heart disease and she has a defibrillator. She's had several family members who have died of it so it's really no joke. Because of this disease she has to have a septal myomectomy because she has congestive heart failure. It's open heart surgery that entails removing a portion of the septum that is obstructing the flow of blood from the left ventricle to the aorta. She has no other choice but to have this surgery done if she wants to live.
Right now her bills are piling up and she can't afford to pay them all so she needs help. She has to stay in the hospital for 6 -7 days besides the major surgery. We all go through tough times and it feels great to feel some moral and yes monetary support when your bills are piling up. If you can take some time out to help relieve some of the stress Regina has piled on her that would be amazing!! We all have the privilege of having this wonderful person and her million dollar smile in our lives....how about we help keep her smile going!?!?
Mostly keep her in your prayers and send positive vibes and love and keep her spirits up. This is a huge deal and she needs to feel our love even if she is embarassed that we all know about it.
