What if psychedelics could be used proactively to help us stay well — not just to treat illness?
This film will bring that idea to the world.
Two years ago, I took a small piece of mushroom chocolate and went for a walk on the beach. I had no idea that day would change my life.
Because after years of trying everything for my mental health — therapy, medication, journaling, meditation, exercise — I was still struggling to be happy.
But that day, I finally reconnected with myself. I reconnected with nature. I knew how to be happy again.
Then... Australia legalised psychedelic medicine.
I was excited. I had to break the law to access them, but now they could help so many other people, right?
That's what I thought.
But after travelling across Australia interviewing the leading experts, I discovered a harsh truth:
You're only allowed to access psilocybin as a last resort, with a severe mental diagnosis. And only if you pay $25,000.
We have a growing mental health crisis. Despite more awareness and treatments than ever, suicide is still the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15–44.
At the same time, the science shows that psilocybin is safe, and proven to help us feel connected to self, others, and nature.
Yet most people will never be able to access these tools.
With your help, we can change this.
THE BIGGER OPPORTUNITY
I believe there’s a much bigger opportunity — beyond treating illness — to explore how psilocybin could be used proactively to support wellbeing, connection, and purpose, before people end up sick.
I’ve spent the past two years turning that idea into a feature documentary, A Trip to Transformation, aimed at mainstream audiences and designed to shift public understanding.
Following the success of How to Change Your Mind, we believe this documentary is the next critical step forward to ultimately have a larger impact on the mental health crisis.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
This film has already been two years in the making. Since our first crowdfund that took us around Australia, I've poured my heart and soul to turn this into a global feature film that I believe can make a real difference.
We have a powerful story mapped out designed to destigmatise and normalise psychedelics as tools for wellbeing. We have:
- An award-winning team to bring this to life including including Damon Gameau (2040, That Sugar Film) as Executive Producer, and Emmy & Peabody-nominated producer, Anna Marie Pitman.
- Access to leading researchers, legal retreat centres, and international facilitators for a powerful global story.
- A full teaser trailer, website, and impact strategy ready to go.
- A powerful story crafted over two years with the guidance of leading researchers, writers, and cultural experts — ready to inspire global audiences.
Now, we're heading overseas to capture a world-first story: how legal psilocybin retreats in Oregon, Colorado, and the Netherlands are helping everyday people reconnect to themselves, to nature, and to what matters.
We’ll show how these legal models are providing safe, intentional, and science-backed access, before people hit rock bottom.
And we're showing why we urgently need scientific research on healthy volunteers in natural settings — to explore how these tools can proactively support wellbeing, not just treat illness.
Lastly, we’re showing how all around the world everyday people are turning to psilocybin to reconnect and heal. This isn’t fringe anymore. And we've crafted a powerful narrative to show this to the world.
All of this costs money.
Making a feature film aimed at Netflix costs a small fortune. With my producer, Anna, we’re applying for government grants. But they take time, and they’re not guaranteed.
If you believe in the potential of psychedelics to improve the wellbeing of society, please join our mission and help bring this film to life.
Your donation will help us:
- Travel overseas to film at legal psilocybin retreat centres in Oregon, Colorado, and the Netherlands — to show the world there is a way to safely expand access and help more people.
- Document real stories of everyday people who have used psilocybin to find healing, including those shut out of the current medicalised system in Australia.
- Film a groundbreaking study on psilocybin in nature with healthy volunteers.
- Edit and complete the film to a cinematic standard with animation and visuals.
- Distribute globally via major platforms to shift public opinion at scale.
- Launch a global impact campaign and digital app to turn public awareness into action for the psychedelic medicine movement.
- Amplify the message that these tools are not just for the severely ill, but for the wellbeing of society.
Just like many films have done in the past, A Trip to Transformation is designed to reach a widespread audience to shift public opinion and change policy.
With your help, we can tell a story that redefines psychedelics as tools for wellbeing.
